Store Settings

Store Settings Checklist

Store settings are in Website Editor → STORE → Settings. Each panel has its own Save button.

Work through this list before you take real orders. Each setting is explained below it.

  1. [ ] General: the store is on, and the currency is right.
  2. [ ] Payments: choose how customers pay, and connect PayPal to accept payments online.
  3. [ ] Shipping: only if you sell physical products — zones, methods and rates
  4. [ ] Email Sender Details: so your shoppers receive their invoices and receipts (Same as Form Sender).
  5. [ ] Products: created and connected to a Product blocks.

General

  1. Enable / Disable — Store is on shows the cart, checkout and your Product blocks on your site. When it's off, all three are hidden. Adding a Product block switches it on for you. When you switch it on or off, publish your website.
  2. Currency — used for every price. If you use PayPal, your PayPal account must accept this currency.
  3. Symbol — how prices look, for example $24.00.

Payments

Mode

  1. Sandbox (test) — use it while you set up and test. Orders are recorded and marked TEST in Sales, and no money moves.
  2. Live — switch to Live when you're ready to take real payments.

PayPal is connected separately for each mode.

Payment Methods

Choose what customers can pay with. With no method switched on, customers can't check out at all.

  1. Offline covers cash on delivery and bank transfer. The order is placed straight away; you arrange payment with the customer, then mark the order paid in Sales.
  2. PayPal can be switched on once PayPal is connected for the current mode. Shoppers can pay with a PayPal account or a card.

Connecting Paypal

You need a PayPal business account, You can upgrade your personal account by logging into PayPal → to Settings → Account Options → Upgrade to a Business.

  1. Sign in to the PayPal Developer Dashboard and open Apps & Credentials.
  2. Choose Sandbox or Live to match the mode you're connecting, and create an app (or open your existing one).
  3. Copy the app's Client ID and Secret into siteSPARK.
  4. Click Save & connect.

siteSPARK checks the details with PayPal straight away and sets up everything else PayPal needs. That includes being told about payments whose buyer closed the page right after paying, so no order is lost. There's nothing else to set up in PayPal.

To take real payments you connect twice: once in Sandbox mode with the sandbox credentials, for sandbox mode, and once in Live mode with the live credentials.

Shipping

Skip this section if nothing you sell needs shipping. When no item in the cart needs shipping, checkout asks only for the customer's name, email and country.

Shipping has three parts: where you ship (zones), How (methods), and How much shipping costs (rates).

Wheight units

kilograms or pounds. It's a label only: product weights and rates both use it, and nothing is converted.

Shipping zones

A zone is a group of countries that share the same methods and rates, for example "USA & Canada" or "Europe".

  1. A country can belong to one zone only.
  2. Countries that aren't in any zone can't be chosen at checkout.

Shipping Methods

How you ship: For example, Standard, Express, Pickup and so on. For each method, enter:

  1. A label, for example: Express
  2. A description, shown at checkout, for example: Ship using Fedex.
  3. The delivery time in days, for example: 3 to 7 days.
  4. The zones it's available in, zone is already creating in the previous step, for example: Europe

Shipping Rates

Aa price for every zone-and-method pair. Shipping is charged once per order:

(Base + Per kg) × the total weight of all products in the cart that needs shipping

You can also set Free for orders over an amount.

Example: base $5, per kg $2, and an order weighing 3 kg costs 5 + 2 × 3 = $11 to ship. With "free for orders over $100", a $120 order ships free.

A product that needs shipping can only be bought once at least one rate exists. The product editor warns you if there are none.

Emails to shoppers

Your shoppers are emailed an invoice or receipt. These emails are sent from your own mailbox, so they come from your shop and not from siteSPARK.

siteSPARK store is sending email using the same sender as your contact form, if your contact form is set, then nothing else required, otherwise setup the sender from your Site editor → Settings → Web Forms → Sender Details.

If Sender Details are empty, no emails are sent to shoppers. Orders still work normally.
