Product Block
The Product block is the "buy" part of a product section or page: the part a shopper uses to choose and add to cart. It shows:
- The price, with the original price struck through when there's a sale price
- The product's options as buttons, such as sizes and colours
- "In stock: 12" or "Sold out", when the product tracks stock
- A quantity box (optional)
- The Add To Cart button
Product Block does not show the product's name, photos or description. You design those yourself with text, image, gallery or video blocks around it, in any layout you like. That's what lets every product page look the way you want.
block properties
- Product — which product this block sells. Hidden products are listed but can't be chosen.
- Button label — for example "Add To Cart", "Buy now" or "Book".
- Show quantity selector — switch it off if customers only ever buy one.
- Manage products link — takes you to Store → Products.
The same product can appear in as many blocks and on as many pages as you like.
the sample product
A new Product block shows a Sample Product until you choose a product. This also happens when you insert a section that contains a Product block, including sections you saved to My Sections: the product choice isn't saved with a section, so you choose again after inserting it.
The sample shows how the block will look, but:
- its button is greyed out, so it can't be added to the cart
- it is not shown on your published site (or in Preview) — the space stays empty until you choose a product and publish

When your store is off
With the store switched off (Store → Settings → General), your published site hides every Product block, and so does Preview. While you edit, each block stays visible with a note saying it's hidden on your published site. Switch the store back on and publish, and the blocks return.
"This product is no longer available"
Your published site shows this when a block's product has been hidden or deleted. In the editor, the block's settings warn you about it. Choose another product there, or show the product again in Store → Products.
Trying the cart while you edit
The cart works in the editor, so you can add products and go through checkout. Orders placed from the editor are always test orders: they appear in Sales marked TEST, and no money moves.
